Hello! I'm Malcolm, an undergraduate student studying Applied Mathematics-Economics and Urban Studies at Brown University. I plan on attending graduate school in Economics or Public Policy and going into academic research. I am passionate about the use of data and high-quality research to improve policy decisions, particularly at the local level. My primary research interests are in public policy and education, but I also hope to study labor, health, and other fields in applied microeconomics. I have research experience under multiple leading scholars in economics spanning the fields of education, political economy, public policy, and health.
Outside of economics, I like to write and solve puzzles. Through Brown Puzzle Club, I wrote for Puzzlethon 2024 and Brown Puzzle Hunt 2025. I also play jazz piano and occasionally sing. You can find a few recordings from my high school jazz combo on my Soundcloud. My other interests include Magic: the Gathering, role-playing games, and the Seattle Seahawks.
